The day started gray overcast and drizzly, but it cleared up with sunshine to complete the rounds. It’s always a pleasure to host this match against Royal Burgess, although there were some close matches Blairgowrie won 5-3. So after our 4-4 draw, away in June our aggregate score for the year was 9-7 winning the Cochrane Rosebowl. However, as Royal Burgess are the current holders, and hadn’t brought it with them, there was no presentation of this prestigious trophy.
Well done to Captain Tom Watson and the Team for this excellent result.
Sorry, no picture, it was the photographer's day off!
From our on-course correspondent & Captain - Iain Milne:
The match against Elie was tied at four matches each after the first leg at Blairgowrie. Captain for the day Iain Milne and his team travelled to Elie with high hopes of retaining the Scott Henderson Salver but in a close match Elie triumphed by four and a half matches to three and a half. Captain Iain presented the Salver to Captain Julian James after a very friendly match played in dry and warm conditions which did not look possible during lunch when the rain was teaming down.
