Sorry James MacFarlane (Captain of the Day) failed to supply a picture,
so I thought you'd like to see some of our up and coming Juniors instead!
Sadly we lost by 5.5 to 2.5.
We had an excellent match against our friends at Panmure. The usual standards of their hospitality were in evidence, the course was in good condition, as they build up to the Amateur next month (which they host jointly with Carnoustie) and the matches were played in an excellent, competitive but convivial spirit. The weather was the only down-side: a cold day, made worse by a strong easterly wind.
The matches could hardly have been closer: 5 of the 8 were halved, 2 were lost 2&1, the other lost by one hole. The upshot, therefore, was an overall loss by 5.5 to 2.5. There is ground to be made up in the return fixture in order for Blairgowrie to retain the Senior Trophy, but all is to play for and we look forward to success at home in August.
