Our dinner this year to celebrate our 50th Anniversary was a resounding success with a record 83 in attendance.
Our main speaker Jim McArthur was in excellent form and our guest Sir William Macpherson introduced the evening with a few of his classic jokes.
The food as usual was of a very high standard and the feedback from everyone has been very positive and an enjoyble evening was had by all.
I have received many letters of thanks and I have attached one from Bill Macpherson for your interest.

Result - Match 26 - Home - New Club St Andrews - on Thursday 12th September
Holding a marginal lead from the away match, it was imperative to have a win here and we certainly did it in style with a resounding victory over our old rivals to win the Bali Dodo trophy for only the 2nd time in 14 years.
My thanks to Graeme Hunter for all his work and doing a magnificent job as Captain for the day.

Results - Matches 11 - 15
The matches played since I have been on holiday have all been very difficult with mixed results.
Match 11 - Home against Elie was a very close match with Blairgowrie finishing on top.
Match 12 - Away against Royal Burgess was a disaster - and apart from the first pairing who won, all other matches were lost. However the hospitality and weather were first class and a most enjoyable day was had by all.
Match 13 - Home against Royal Aberdeen - always a difficult game particularly this year as a strong side was sent down and the team did very well to achieve a creditable draw. Captain Wesencraft and his partner Hamish Hodge pulled out all the stops to draw their match after being 3 down with 4 to play.
Match 14 - Away against Dalhousie - This was an excellent win at Carnoustie and with a draw at home in the first leg, we finished overall winners.
Match 15 - Away against Ferntwowers ( Crieff GC) - once again we lost badly and since this fixture started in 2004 we have never won an away match there.
Thanks to all Captains of the day for their sterling efforts

Result - Match 03 Vs Downfield Away.
In extremely windy conditions, the Seniors came a cropper at waterlogged Downfield but narrowly avoided a whitewash.
The team only managed one halved match out of eight, however by all accounts it was an enjoyable game and my thanks to John Hope for acting as Captain for the day.
The feedback received is that due to the poor winter, Downfield, like many other courses has severe drainage problems at the moment which is making the course even heavier than usual.
Score - 1/2 to 7 1/2.
